Nothing decides what you read.
An inbox for the web: every article from every feed you follow, in the order it was published. Keyboard-driven, the articles you open stay readable offline, and it finds anything you have ever read before you finish typing.

A Treasure Chest in the Carina Nebula
This treasure chest is full of stars. The featured image was obtained with NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope and shows a dust pillar in the Carina Nebula inside our Galaxy, roughly 7500 light-years away.
Unread keeps the feed name in colour and the title bold; read rows go quiet; starred keeps a mark. That is the whole state model, and there is nothing else to learn.
The whole app runs from the keyboard.
Not a setting you switch off. There is no such code in here to run.
No analytics, no ad network, no tracking pixels. Nothing to opt out of.
It never asks for your attention. It is there when you come to it.
Export OPML from Feedly, Inoreader or any other reader, drop it here, done.
What happens to your archive
Starred articles are kept indefinitely. Unread articles are never purged: not after a year, not ever. Articles you have read and not starred are removed after 90 days, and only once every subscriber to that feed has read them too.
Delete your account and everything of yours goes with it: subscriptions, read state, saved articles, tokens. There is a test that fills every one of those tables and then asserts they are empty.
This is on the front page rather than buried in the privacy policy because it is the part that should decide whether you hand over five years of reading.
Questions people ask first
Is it free?
Yes. An account is free and follows up to 300 feeds. There is no card to enter and no trial that runs out.
Can I bring my feeds from Feedly or Inoreader?
Yes. Every RSS reader can export your subscriptions as one OPML file. Import it here and your feeds and folders arrive in one step. Step by step: from Feedly, from Inoreader.
Does it work on my phone?
It runs in any browser, on any device, and you can add it to your home screen like an app. Articles you have opened stay readable offline.
Does it use AI or decide what I see?
No. There are no summaries, no ranking and no recommendations. You see every article, newest first.
Can I run it myself?
Yes. Alo Reader is open source under AGPL-3.0, and the same stack runs on your own server from one compose file.
Free, up to 300 feeds per account. Bring the OPML file from your current reader and you are moved in before the kettle boils.
Or run it on your own server. Open source (AGPL-3.0), same stack, one compose file.
